Senators Beat Ducks Again

Jackson, MS; July 6, 2003 – The Jackson Senators for the second straight night scored 11 runs to beat the Springfield/Ozark Mt. Duck 11-4. Ryan Creek (3-3) went seven effective innings, allowing seven hits, four runs, only three of which were earned, while striking out four. Derek Eddie (3-3) suffered the loss, after giving up eight runs on 11 hits in 4.1 innings. Offensively, the Senators pounded out 11 hits, with Josh Tranum going 3-5 with one RBI and scoring one run. Hiroshi Yamauchi came up with a multiple hit night, going 2-3 at the plate with two RBI and one run scored. The Senators with the win now have three game winnings streak. The win also helped the Senators to up their record to 35-19 on the season and 4-2 during second half play. The Mt. Ducks fell to 4-2 on the second half, while falling to 25-29 on the year.

Next home game: Will take place on Monday, July 7, 2003, as it will be “Mix 98 Baseball Bingo,” fans having a chance to win great prizes. The game of bingo is centered on the game of baseball. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
