
Selvy and Phillips Make CBA All-League Teams

LAWTON, OKLA- The CBA announced today the annual All-League selections. The player selections are voted upon by the ten head coaches. For eligibility, players must have played in 24 games and be in good standing with the league.
The 2008 CBA Champions had two players named to the All-League teams. Forward Daryan Selvy was named to the first team, and Marvin Phillips was named to the second team.
Selvy, who was second in the league for scoring, averaged 22.7 points per game, and he also finished fourth in steals with 1.8 per game. The Cavs forward also averaged 6.5 rebounds, shot 50% from the field, and 85.8% from the free throw line. He scored his game high 38 points in the January 3 match against the Rio Grande Valley Silverados. In February, he was named CBA Player of the Week three times, and because of his accomplishments during the season Selvy was named CBA Player of the Year.
The All-League first team included Desmond Ferguson from the Yakama Sun Kings, Ronnie Fields of the Minot Skyrockets, James "Boo" Jackson from the East Kentucky Miners, and Moochie Norris from the Yakama Sun Kings.
Forward Marvin Phillips was one of three players to average a double-double this season. He averaged 12.9 points per game and grabbed 10 boards. In his second season with the CBA, Phillips was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year.
The second team for the CBA All-League team included Nat Burton of the Albany Patroons, John DeGroat from the Pittsburgh Xplosion, and Josh Pace and Steve Thomas of the East Kentucky Miners.
