August 22, 2014 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Seattle Impact News Release

The Seattle Impact FC have announced that the co-captains for the team's dance team, "Ladies with Impact," will be Lauren Baumann and Elizabeth Buslon. Both Lauren and Elizabeth have a variety of dancing and choreography experience on their respective resumes.

Raised in Seattle and a graduate of Gonzaga University where she obtained her Bachelor's in Business Administration and Marketing, Lauren brings a multitude of dancing and choreographing experiences to the table. Lauren spent several seasons as a dancer for the AFL's Spokane Shock Dance Team and the NLL's Washington Stealth Bombshells Dance Team. Lauren has also been the dance coach for Seatttle University's dance team and at her alma mater of Gonzaga.

Having grown up in Kent, Lauren's co-captain Elizabeth Buslon does not lack a wealth of experience of dancing and choreographing on her resume either. After dancing for her high school dance team, Elizabeth has been an instructor for the Thunderbird Dance Camp in Portland, dancer and choreographer for the Washington Stealth Bombshells Dance Team and had participated as a finalist for the NBA Portland Blazer Dancers. In addition to dancing and choreographing, Elizabeth is currently attending Bellevue College to become a Registered Nurse.

Not only have Lauren and Elizabeth proved their dancing and choreographing skills individually, but their close, working relationship is also believed to benefit the "Ladies with Impact" immensely. "We both have the experience, drive, and dedication to build a professional team for the Impact," Lauren said. "Elizabeth will be a great team leader and I look forward to working with her." Elizabeth added, "Both being coaches of grade school dance teams, we have always collaborated with each other about techniques of coaching and how to help girls reach their full potential in the dance community. Working alongside of Lauren will be a great opportunity to learn from each other as well as grow as dancers ourselves."

Both Lauren and Elizabeth have made it clear what they will specifically be looking for from the dancers who will be auditioning. "We'll be looking for dancers with strong showmanship, personality, and positive energy. Dancers should be in top physical condition and take pride in their appearance," Lauren stated. "We'll also be looking for ladies who can catch our eye on and off the dance floor," Elizabeth said. "Their performances in jazz and hip-hop styles must be captivating to the audiences and maintain a great deal of energy throughout the game."

Open player tryouts and dance team auditions will be held at ShoWare Center in Kent, WA on September 6th & 7th, 2014 and require pre-registration. The team kicks off their inaugural season with a home game against the San Diego Sockers on November 8, 2014. Details can be found on the team website.
