Omaha Beef News Release
OMAHA, NE:From the owner Jeff Sprowls all the way to Sir Loin and everyone in between, the Omaha Beef are ready and anxious to kick off their 11th season playing professional indoor football.
Head Coach Patrick Pimmel and his staff have had a lot of talented football players to evaluate and feel confident they have picked the right group to defend their division title.
"We start the season against the Sioux Falls Storm whom I feel is an excellent club and has a great history in the indoor game. Our club is up for the challenge to face one of the best teams out-of-the-gate to show the league what the Beef are all about," Coach bolsters.
"The success to our team will start in the trenches where Coach Mac (McCleskey) has formed a bond with the line to play as a team rather than individuals. He has prepared this elite group of offensive linemen to read quickly the opponent's schemes to get the upper hand," Coach states proudly.
"On the defensive side of the ball Coach V has many years keeping the rush an aggressive and dominate part of the game. He has faced the Storms' offensive blocking setups over the years so he is somewhat familiar with them. His group of professionals has a huge task in slowing down their many offensive weapons," the head coach reports.
"Our quarterback will be the very talented Ben Sankey. I am excited to show Omaha the reason the organization has put so much faith in this highly rated signal caller. I am very impressed with his cool approach to the game that keeps mistakes from happening," the first year head coach explains.
"Besides all the practicing, meetings, films and talent on the field, I believe the big part of the team will be in the stands, as in the fans. The city of Omaha and surrounding area has rallied around this team for a long time and this ninth player definitely is a vital part of the team and the organization," Coach Pimmel says firmly.
The Omaha Beef is proud to be one of the longest running and most consistent indoor teams of all time in any capacity starting their 11th season. Omaha is also the home of the 2009 Dance Team of the Year (Prime Time Dancers) and the Mascot of the year (Sir Loin) of the IFL.
The Beef open their 2010 regular season on March 6th at 7:05 p.m. facing the Sioux Falls Storm at The Slaughterhouse (Omaha Civic Auditorium).
The 2010 season tickets, mini-plans and other ticket packages are currently on sale. For more information, contact the Beef office at (402) 346-2333. Go to www.beeffootball.comto get all the details!
