
Seamore the Seal is Stepping up

VICTORIA, BC- Seals mascot, Seamore is commencing his spring training by taking the ActNow BC's Healthy Living Pledge.
Check out Seamore on his first Summer 2009 Healthy Living Step this Sunday as he runs in the Times Colonist 1.5k Family Run. Seamore started training today and is looking forward to participating in the event.
"Many other mascots, as well as residents of our region, should follow Seamore's healthy lifestyle example" said VIHA's Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Richard Stanwick.
Seamore wants to be a part of British Columbia being the healthiest province to host an Olympics. He is pledging his three simple things:
1) Participate in the Times Colonist 1.5k Family Run
2) Run the bases with kids every Seals home game
3) Eat more seaweed and less processed unhealthy foods
"The Family Run is a great opportunity for Seamore to get out in the community and help kids get excited about being active," says President Darren Parker.
