
Seals Top Manatees, 5-4, in Overtime

Orlando â David Goverde made 36 saves and Mike Sanderson scored in overtime, lifting the Orlando Seals to a 5-4 win over the Miami Manatees.
Seamus Galligan got the Seals on the board early in the first period with his first goal of the season. Eric Perricone tied the game on a penalty shot just over a minute later.
Jerry Keefe scored his first goal of the season with a power play tally at 15:25 of the first, but once again Miami fought back when former Seal Todd Nowicki capitalized on a Miami power play opportunity at 19:11 of the second frame.
Brad Federenko added two goals for the Seals, including the game-tying goal with less than two minutes left in regulation to send the Seals to their first overtime period of the season, where Mike Sanderson took advantage of the open ice to score his fourth goal of the season from Tomas Jelinek at 1:26.
The story of this game was penalty minutes. In all 77 penalty minutes were assessed, resulting in a combined 22 power play opportunities. Each team scored once on the power play.
Orlando and Miami heat up the rivalry this Wednesday, November 26, when they face off in Miami at 7:05 p.m. The Seals return to the T.D. Waterhouse Centre on Saturday.
