Florida Seals News Release

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] -After a big win Thursday night at home the Seals were looking to be the first team to beat Fayetteville at home this season. Unfortunately the FireAntz had different ideas as they won 4-2.

Both teams showed effects from a long overnight bus trip from Central Florida. The pace was slow and filled with whistles through most of the first period. Jeff Antonovich scored his second goal of the season 11:45 into the game to give the Antz the lead.

The Seals fought back again just like last night when Justin Keller scored for the ninth time this season. The FireAntz took the lead back with less than 30-seconds left in the second period on a Nick Kormanyos power play goal.

Florida showed life in the third period once again tying the game when David Deeves found Rob Sich in the low slot. Sich fired it past goalie Glenn Ridler for his sixth goal of the year. Fayetteville showed why they are undefeated on home ice as Kory Baker came in the zone unseen took a George Nistas pass and deposited it to the back of the net. Nistas would add an empty net goal to seal the victory.

Florida will enjoy a week off before returning home against Huntsville on Friday, Dec. 30. They will also play at the Silver Spurs New Year's Eve against the Columbus Cottonmouths. Both games start at 7:35pm. The game can be heard locally on 1190 WAMT and around the world at www.wamt1190.com and seen at www.livesportsnetwork.com/sphl.

The entire Florida Seals staff, players and ownership would like to wish everybody a very Happy Holiday Season. We hope you come out to the Silver Spurs and enjoy hockey very soon with your loved ones.
