Florida Seals News Release

Lakeland, FL – B.J. Stephens had the game-winning goal in the shootout to lift the Orlando Seals to a 4-3 victory Saturday night at the Lakeland Center. Jamie Muswagon and Mike Sanderson each had two points for the Seals in the club's third straight victory.

Orlando saw a three-goal lead evaporate in the second period, as Lakeland scored three unanswered goals to tie the game after two. The Seals only mustered a season-low 14 shots on Lakeland goaltender Tyler Murray through regulation and overtime.

B.J. Stephens put the Seals on the board on a 2-on-1 play just 2 minutes, 4 seconds into the game. Mike Sanderson connected with Stephens who buried the puck behind Murray for his team-leading 21st goal of the season. Jamie Muswagon was credited with the second assist on the play.

Sanderson added a goal of his own just 1:34 later for a 2-0 Seals lead.

The Seals pulled ahead 3-0 at the 18:00 mark of the first period on Brad Federenko's power play tally. Mark White's shot from the point through traffic was tipped by Federenko past Murray for his 16th of the season.

Lakeland charged back in the second period, scoring 3 goals on 14 shots and holding the Seals to only three shots. Jim Callahan's first of two on the night at 9:48 made it 3-1 as he slid the puck under Mike Correia's pads after the Seals failed to clear the zone.

Mark Loza's first of the season made it 3-2 before Callahan's second of the game tied the contest 3-3.

In the shootout, Mike Correia was injured as he made the save on Lakeland's second shooter, Chris Harper. David Goverde was forced to come into the game without a warm-up to face the third Lakeland shooter. Goverde kept Callahan at bay to preserve the victory for Correia.

The Seals return home for a matinee game Sunday against the Jacksonville Barracudas at 1:05 p.m. Fans sporting any NFL team apparel will receive a FREE ticket for every ticket they purchase.
