SD Loyal Hosts FC Tulsa Tomorrow in Return to USL Championship Play

SD Loyal resumes USL Championship action when it hosts FC Tulsa tomorrow in an interconference match at Torero Stadium. This is the first time the two teams meet in San Diego in a clash between clubs off to fast starts in their respective conferences. SD Loyal is coming off a 2-0 win against Albion San Diego of the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) in the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Wednesday. Before making its 2023 Open Cup debut, Head Coach Nate Miller's team started the 2023 USL Championship season with seven points thanks to a pair of wins at home and a draw at Phoenix Rising FC last weekend. Tulsa comes into the match in second place in the Eastern Conference and unbeaten in its last three matches with a win and a pair of draws. The Oklahoma club last played to a 2-2 draw against El Paso Locomotive FC. Tulsa is coached by Blair Gavin and led by Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo da Costa on the field. Now in his fifth season with the team, da Costa is the club's all-time scoring leader with 33 goals and has added 24 assists across the regular season and playoffs.
