Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Three goals in the second period by the Waterloo Black Hawks and a goalie fight brought the crowd at Young Arena to life as the Hawks downed the Sioux City Musketeers 4-1 on Saturday.
James Marcou lit the lamp 23 seconds into the second period, after a scoreless first. Later during a five-on-three powerplay, Kyle Reeds put in a rebound after a Blake Kessel shot. Brett Olson also added a goal against his former team too.
Twenty-eight seconds after Olson's goal and following a collision at center, Ryan Rondeau and Jerry Kuhn dropped the gloves at center. The two traded blows for nearly a minute, both skating away bloodied after the scrap.
Mitch Ryan added a third period goal for Waterloo, but the Musketeers broke up Waterloo's shutout bid in the final minute of the game with a powerplay score from Kevin Lohry.
The Hawks meet the Green Bay Gamblers in Wisconsin Sunday afternoon, before a home-and-home series with the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders.
