Honolulu Sharks News Release

Honolulu starter Scott Shaw threw five perfect innings as the Sharks went on to shut out North Shore, 5-0, tonight at Waipahu's Hans L'Orange Park.

Shaw (1-0) struck out seven Honu batters through five frames, and the New York Mets prospect lowered his ERA to 0.77. Four Honolulu relievers preserved the shutout, allowing just two North Shore hits on the evening.

The Sharks (9-3-1) notched five hits, and took advantage of three errors and two Honu walks. Dominic Brown went 1-2 to pace Honolulu, and the right fielder kept his batting average at an even .500.

North Shore starter Jun Hyeok Heo (0-2) took the loss, surrendering four runs on five hits through four innings. The Honu dropped to 4-8-1 on the season.

The teams return to Hans L'Orange Park tomorrow at 1 p.m. for the finale of a three-game set.
