New Mexico Scorpions News Release
[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-This past Saturday the Scorpions in cooperation with the Santa Ana Star Center and Boston Culinary Group staged a very successful open house for the community. An estimated 2,500 people came through the doors between 10a.m.-3p.m.
The Scorpions continued the sales success they have had this summer with an all-time record. Fifty-three new season tickets were bought during the open house, giving the Scorpions their best single day in recent memory.
"I am very happy to see the results from the event this past Saturday," said Gary Gelinas, Scorpions president/general manager. "We are well on our way to the goal of 1,200 season tickets for the coming season and ask for continued support from the Rio Rancho community.
In addition to the Scorps activities, the concourse was full of great activities for children. On the North Concourse there were face painters, a musical "petting zoo," Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety and Fire Department and other local non-profit organizations.
Inside the seating bowl, local bands played much to the delight of those visiting the Santa Ana Star Center. The most exciting part of the event may have been meeting people who were visiting the building for the very first time.
"It was great to see so many people see this great facility for the first time," said Matt Burcham, Santa Ana Star Center general manager.
"It was a great day for all the organizations involved, we really were able to showcase the great multi-purpose facility we have here in Rio Rancho."
