To all Scorpions' fans...
I just want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for making this inaugural season a successful one. Not only were we successful on the field, we managed to build a strong relationship between the fans and our organization.
For me, Yuma is a unique place in many ways. First, let's talk about the heat. It is overwhelming, and I can honestly say that you can't describe it to a person in words. Second, the small town feel and the people that I've met in a short period of time since I arrived in Yuma have left an indelible impression on me. I also want to send out a special âhello' to Linda Gwinn. Linda, I hope you stay healthy throughout the winter, and I can't wait to see you in your seat next May. Third, in my six years of managing, this has been one of the most pleasant experiences that I've had. Walking into Desert Sun Stadium gave me the chills-even though it was 105 degrees every single time I walked into it! By far, it was the best place to experience a baseball game in the Golden Baseball League. Fourth, although this is a brand-new independent baseball league, I feel that it's going to be here for a very long time. The talent level is equivalent to a Class A league, and at times, even a AA level.
As I head back home to South Dakota, I am happy... and at the same time, saddened, due to the fact that I'm going home, and yet, leaving my other ânew' home. I will miss a lot of things about Yuma and baseball. I'll miss the preparation before a game, and the interaction between the fans prior and even during the game. Although we didn't make the playoffs, this is the first time in my career where I left the field with a smile on my face at the end of each game. Not making the playoffs left me with a lot to look forward to, and extra motivation for when we return next May. I'm looking forward to coming back to the Desert Southwest for our off-season Gold Circle events, and for special events that the Scorpions will be involved in. At that time, I look forward to renewing the friendships that I formed during this summer.
All the best,
Benny Castillo

Thank You Letter from the GM
Dear Scorpions' fans,
On behalf of the entire Yuma Scorpions' baseball organization and the Golden Baseball League, I would like to thank you for making our inaugural season a huge success. Over 90,000 fans will have attended fun-filled, action-packed games at Desert Sun Stadium this year, and we couldn't have done it without your support.
The Scorpions will definitely be back in 2006, and we are already looking to make things even bigger and better for next season.
I look forward to working with you and having you as a proud member of our Scorpions' baseball family again next year.
Thanks again and Go Scorpions!
Yours in baseball,
Patrick D. Brown, General Manager
