San Antonio Scorpions News Release
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Tuesday, March 25, 2014) - The San Antonio Scorpions will scrimmage Trinity University on Saturday, March 29, at 4pm. The match will be played at Toyota Field and admission will be free for all Scorpions fans while prospective season ticket holders will enjoy a Pick Your Seat opportunity to select their seats for the 2014 season.
"Coach McGinlay has built an excellent soccer program at Trinity and we expect for them to give us a spirited test on Saturday," said Scorpions' Head Coach Alen Marcina. "This will be one of the final chances for us as coaches to evaluate players in a game situation before the season opener, so it will be important for the team to be at their best."
The match against the NCAA Division III Tigers will be San Antonio's sixth of seven preseason games as they prepare for the 2014 NASL season. Trinity boasts a highly successful men's soccer program as they've made the NCAA playoffs 15 times, advanced to soccer's Final Four three times and won the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2003.
The Scorpions open the 2014 NASL season on April 12th at Toyota Field against Minnesota United FC. For information on Scorpions season tickets call 210-495-8686 or visit sascorpions.com.
