
Scorpions Spoil Toivonen's Return, Jacks Fall 5-0

(Rio Rancho, NM) - In Juha Toivonen's first game since January 9th, the Odessa Jackalopes were shutout for the first time this season in a 5-0 loss to the New Mexico at the Santa Ana Star Center on Wednesday night. Torren Delforte's penalty shot goal in the first period was the game winner.
The Jacks trailed just 2-0 entering the third period but the Scorpions were able to add three goals from Craig MacDonald, Neil Trimm, and Jordan Foote to make it a 5-0 final.
Delforte's goal came at 2:38 of the first period to give New Mexico a 1-0 lead.
New Mexico added a second goal in the third period when Neil Trimm scored a rebound goal at 14:56 to make it a 2-0 Scorpion lead.
The Jacks travel to Ft. Worth, TX for a pair of weekend games against the Texas Brahmas beginning Friday night at 7:05 PM from the NYTEX Sports Centre.
