(Yuma, AZ) - The Golden Baseball League has announced a schedule change for the upcoming Scorpions' Independence Day homestand versus the Japan Samurai Bears. The homestand has now been officially reduced from four games to three as the June 30th doubleheader has now been reduced to a single game. The start time of the game will also be different, with the first pitch reverting to the normal Thursday night single-game time of 7:05PM. The number of nights that the homestand will last won't change, nor will any promotions that are involved with the Country Club Motors All-American Weekend. Gates for the Thursday night game will open at their normal time of 6:05PM, and the first 1000 through the gates will receive a free Scorpions' baseball-courtesy of Country Club Motors, Newschannel 11, The Sun Newspaper, and FM 95.1 KTTI. The home game that will be eliminated will be made up later in the season. Details on that game will come at a later date.
The Scorpions return home after tonight's doubleheader in Chico for a brief 3-game homestand against the Mesa Miners this weekend. Friday night is Fireworks Night.
