
Scorpions Goalkeeper Jon Kempin Called in to U.S. Soccer Camp

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Monday, April 20, 2015) - San Antonio Scorpions goalkeeper Jon Kempin will don the red, white and blue of the United States National Team U-23s for an upcoming friendly against Mexico's U-23 side, team President/GM Howard Cornfield and Head Coach Alen Marcina announced today.
"We're very proud that Jon will be have the opportunity to train with the U.S. Men's National Team as a Scorpion," said Cornfield. "It is an honor anytime one of our players is called in to represent their country as it speaks to the quality of the players on our team."
Kempin will travel to Carson, California, for the U-23s first domestic training camp of 2015 as the team continues its preparations for qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The team will train from April 19-21 and then face Mexico's U-23 National Team on Wed., April 22, at StubHub Center in Carson. The match will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. PT on UniMás and Univision Deportes Network.
