
Scorpions Fall to Rage In Regular Season Finale

[ BROOMFIELD, Col. ]-In the final game of the regular season, the Scorpions fell to Rocky Mountain 5-2. The Scorpions finished the regular season as the Southwest Division champions, posting a 32-34-8 record.
The first period was something the Scorpions will soon want to forget. The Rage came out with five opening period goals, including four assists from Matic Kralj. Dan Vandermeer started the onslaught with his fifth goal of the season. On the very next shift Dorian Anneck lit the lamp in his first of two straight goals. Preston Briggs and John DiPace scored late in the period sending the Rage to the locker room with a 5-0 lead.
The second period went by quietly. The Scorpions ruled the third period. Konrad Reeder got the Scorpions on the scoreboard as he finished a perfect pass from Jamie Herrington. New Mexico would convert on the power play with Jeremy Garrison picking up a rebound and finished the afternoon's scoring.
