Scorpions Announce "International Train Like a Pro Clinic"

SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 21, 2012) - The San Antonio Scorpions announce the "International Train Like a Pro Clinic" as a lead up to the Scorpions International Challenge presented by Aeromexico.

The clinic, which will be led by Scorpions Head Coach Tim Hankinson and players from the C.F. Monterrey, San Luis F.C. and the Scorpions, will take place on Friday, June 29. The clinic will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the STAR Soccer Complex.

The clinic is for youth ages 6 through 18 and in order to participate, fans much purchase the "Futbol & Fireworks Four Pack", which includes four tickets to the Scorpions International Challenge on Saturday, June 30, four tickets to the Scorpions vs. FC Edmonton match on Wednesday, July 4 which includes a post-game fireworks celebration, and a pass to the clinic. The complete package costs $120.

"This will be an exciting experience for everyone involved," Scorpions President Michael Hitchcock said. "It's not every day that kids get a chance to receive instruction from some of the best soccer players in the world and get to interact with them. We are looking forward to having an event that they will remember for a very long time."

This will be one of a number of events leading up to the Scorpions International Challenge presented by Aeromexico, a double header that features the Scorpions' match against the Atlanta Silverbacks and an exhibition match between two prominent club teams from Mexico's first division: Reigning CONCACAF Champions League winner C.F. Monterrey Rayados and San Luis F.C. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Heroes Stadium.

On Wednesday, July 4, the Scorpions take on FC Edmonton and will be celebrating America's Independence Day with a post-game fireworks show powered by Magic in the Sky.
