Dallas Desperados News Release

WHAT:

Dallas Desperados continue their Impact Player Program appearances on Monday March 27. Wide receivers/linebackers Dialleo Burks and Jason Shelley, along with offensive/defensive lineman Colston Weatherington and Special Teams Coach Mitch Matuska visit Ranchview High School in Irving on Monday, March 27 at 1:30 p.m.

Ranchview High School, part of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school system, is located only blocks from the Desperados executive offices at the Cowboys Valley Ranch training center in Irving. Both Matuska and Burks are frequent visitors to Ranchview. Matuska is a resident substitute teacher at Ranchview and Burks serves as a teacher's aid as part of his effort to complete his teaching certification.

The Dallas Desperados continue their visits to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, when Offensive/Defensive Linemen Norris McCleary and Devin Wyman, along with Coach Adriel Fenton visit the West Dallas Boys & Girls Club on Monday, March 27 at 5:00 p.m. Fenton, the Desperados Defensive Quality Control Coach, is no stranger to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. In 2003, Fenton served as the defensive coordinator for the organization's Arlington Jaguars.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to inspire and empower all youth - with special concern for those from disadvantaged circumstances - to achieve their full potential in a positive, safe and fun environment. Boys & Girls Clubs are open to all boys and girls between the ages of six and 18, regardless of race, religion or national origin. The 10 Greater Dallas Clubs annually serve more than 9,000 youth. Clubs offer diverse program activities in five areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

Through the Impact Player Program, the Dallas Desperados players and coaches have an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children in the Dallas area. The program also provides an opportunity for the Desperados players to gain confidence in their ability to interact with the community as professional athletes and role models.
