Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Halifax, N.S. - Haitian native Schnider Hérard has signed with the Halifax Hurricanes for the 2019/20 season. Hérard previously played for Mississippi State and left NCAA Division 1 to pursue a professional career.
The 6'10" Center shot 51.3% from the field and averaged 4.23 rebounds in 43 games as a Bulldog. Hérard is a solid all-around player who is strong around the rim defensively and uses his body well down low to create offensive opportunities. At the 2019 Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas he averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds a game.
"Schnider is looking to develop his game at the pro level and certainly has the tools and size to be a very effective player," says Head Coach Mike Leslie. "At a young age of 22, we hope to be able to grow and further develop him into a solid big in our league and expand his game at the professional level."
The Halifax Hurricanes will be entering their fifth season as a member of the NBL Canada. Season Memberships for the upcoming 2019-20 regular season are on sale now.
