Wenatchee Wild News Release

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Evan Schmidbauer (Surrey, British Columbia), David Powlowski (Rochester, N.Y.) and Jono Davis (La Verne, Calif.) each scored a goal Saturday for the Wenathchee Wild in a 6-3 loss to the visiting Minot Minotauros.

The Wild fell behind early Saturday when Minot tallied a pair of special teams goals within the first 5:14 of the first period. Denis Dalidovich scored a power-play goal from Jadin Martin 2:18 into the contest to put his team up 1-0. A little less than three minutes later, Jake O'Borsky scored a shorthanded goal to double Minot's lead.

The Wild came back. Schmidbauer started the charge when he tapped in a goal from the slot that leaked over the goal line at the 6:37 mark. Trace Redmond (McKinney, Texas) and Ross Luedtke (Medina, Minn.) assisted. Schmidbauer had a great opportunity to tie the game late in the first period on a penalty shot. He made a nice move on the netminder, but his backhand shot clanked off the post and the Wild went into the locker room trailing the Minotauros, 2-1.

The Wild tied up the game, 2-2, when Powlowski cleaned up a rebound 5:31 into the second period. Chris Kerr (Penticton, British Columbia) and Robert Nichols (Dallas, Texas) assisted. Later in the period, Davis launched a missile from the point during a power play to give the Wild their first lead of the game. Blake Roubos (Niagara Falls, Ontario) and Noah Nelson (Oconomowoc, Wis.) assisted. However, the Minotauros tied up the game prior to the second intermission when Wesley Iverson tapped in O'Borsky's pass through the slot. Travis Maxwell also assisted.

Unfortunately, the third period did not go Wenatchee's way, and Minot left the Town Toyota Center with a 6-3 win behind third-period goals by Maxwell, Martin and an empty-netter by Steven Sherman.

Tyler Parks made 41 saves on 44 shots for Minot while Nichols stopped 20 of the 25 shots he faced. Minot scored two power-play goals on six tries while Wenatchee scored one power-play goal on five opportunities.

Martin recorded three points (1G, 2A) for Minot while O'Borsky and Maxwell each scored a goal and added an assist.

Wenatchee's next eight games are at home, starting with a pair of games this weekend (Nov. 2-3). Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. Season tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now. Call 509.888.PUCK (7825).
