MARION, OH- The Marion Blue Racers is proud to announce that Ryan Sawyer, Vice President of Operations, has been promoted to the Assistant General Manager position. As Assistant GM, he will now be working alongside CEO and General Manager LaMonte Coleman as well as Blue Racers Head Coach Lorenzo Styles, as they determine the direction of Football Operations for the 2012 Marion Blue Racers Professional Football Team.
Coleman was quoted as saying, "I trust Ryan's football knowledge, his business savvy and his ability to help developmental players reach the next level."
Sawyer, a Columbus, Ohio native, has a degree in Sports Leadership with a minor in General Business from The Ohio State University and has worked as an intern under the 2010 National Champion Columbus Clippers' President and General Manager, Ken Schnacke. That season was the first of the Clippers Back to Back National titles. Sawyer, has spent the past two years working under the tutelage of CEO and General Manager LaMonte Coleman.
"I am honored to have this opportunity with the Marion Blue Racers. I am prepared to work with 'LC' and Lorenzo Styles as we not only work to prepare these men for a championship run but, to work diligently to provide quality family entertainment and develop a respectable business standing in the Marion Community." Sawyer stated.
