Santa Cruz Warriors News Release

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the back-to-back NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, have completed a trade with the Agua Caliente Clippers to acquire a third round pick (77th overall via Stockton) in the 2018 NBA G League Draft, the team announced today. In exchange, the Warriors will send the returning rights for guard Avry Holmes to the Clippers.

Santa Cruz now has six selections in the 2018 NBA G League Draft, including three first round selections - #10 overall, #17 (from South Bay) and #18 (from Erie). The Warriors regained a third round choice after previously trading their third round pick (#64 overall) to the Windy City Bulls in a three-team trade on February 12 to acquire the 18th overall selection via Reno.

Holmes, 24, played his first professional season for Santa Cruz in 2017-18, averaging 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 19.6 minutes in 43 games (10 starts). Holmes (6'2, 195) was a third round selection (66th overall) by the Warriors in the 2017 NBA G League draft by way of Clemson University, where he averaged 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
