Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders announce that American linebacker Darnell Sankey has exercised his option to opt back into his contract for the 2021 Canadian Football League season.
Sankey originally signed with the Stampeders on Feb. 10, 2020, and opted out of his deal on Aug. 31.

Sankey has six games of National Football League experience with the Indianapolis Colts.
Collegiately, he earned all-Big Sky Conference honours as a senior at Sacramento State after amassing 153 tackles including nine tackles for loss in 11 games. He added 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Over the course of his career with the Hornets, Sankey recorded 330 tackles including 27.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception that he returned for a touchdown.
