
San Jose Wolves Add Former AFL Duo

The San Jose Wolves are proud to announce the signing of former San Jose Sabercats Wide Receiver Samora Goodsen and former Stockton Lightning Defensive back Mervin Brookins. Samora 6'3 190 comes to the Wolves after spending the 2008 season with the San Jose Sabercats. Samora played collegiately at Southeast Missouri State where in his senior year in 2006 he led the team in TD receptions."Samora is a guy who we are excited to see he gives us some big play ability with his size and should create some matchups problems this upcoming season" said King. Samorra was part of the 2008 Arena Bowl Finalist San Jose SaberCats that lost to the Philadelphia Soul 59-56 in Arena Bowl XXII.
Mervin Brookins comes to the Wolves after spending the 2009 season with the Stockton Lightning of Arena Football 2. Mervin 5'11 195 in 6 games with the Lightning last year recorded 25 tackles and 7 interceptions. Mervin also added 620 return yards on 28 returns for the Lightning with 1 touchdown. Mervin tied the Arena Football 2 single game interception record with 5 interceptions verse the Central Valley Warriors this past 2009 season. "Mervin gives us another dynamic guy in our defensive secondary" said GM Bennie King. "Mervin has great ball skills and we like his return ability as well on special teams "said King. As we approach camp we will have some competitive battles in our secondary it should be exciting.
