San Jose Stealth News Release

PLEASANTON, CA -The San Jose Stealth indoor professional lacrosse team (www.sjstealth.com), continued to bolster its defense and added a prolific scorer by signing Steve Holmes, Curtis Hodgson and Tom Johnson to one-year contracts, it was announced today.

Already one of the top defensive teams in the National Lacrosse League, the Stealth got even stronger by adding defenders Hodgson and Holmes to the roster. San Jose led the NLL in man down situations and goals against. The addition of Johnson adds some firepower to the offense.

"Curtis is a very solid defenseman who has the ability to run the floor as well as play great team defense. He is a natural leader who is a central piece of our defense," Stealth Assistant General Manager Doug Locker said. "Steve had a terrific rookie season and developed quickly into one of our most solid defenders. He picked up the game very quickly last season, and we feel that he can develop into one of the premier defenders in the NLL because of his tremendous speed and versatility.Tom brings a very athletic presence to our offense, and we feel he has all the tools to be a very good player in the NLL. He is big and strong and should be a great compliment to Colin (Doyle) and Gary (Rosyski). He can set things up as well as score goals, we believe he is the total package and a perfect fit."

Hodgson played 16 games for the Burnaby Lakers of the Western Lacrosse Association during the summer and scored 24 points, including 16 assists. He was named WLA Defenseman of the Year. Johnson was named WLA Rookie of the Year after scoring 54 points for the Langley Thunder.
