Giants Begin Three-Game Series At Lake Elsinore Tonight The San Jose Giants continue their Southern California road trip this evening with the opener of a three-game series against the Lake Elsinore Storm at The Diamond. Jordan Johnson (1-0, 5.40) is slated to make the start on the mound for the Giants tonight. Johnson picked-up the win in his first start of the year on April 12 at Visalia. The right-hander worked five innings and allowed three runs (all earned) on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts. In six starts with San Jose last season, Johnson was 2-3 with a 4.31 ERA (33 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings). The Giants will be attempting to win consecutive games for the first time this season tonight.

Split Versus The Sixers The Giants split a four-game series against the Inland Empire 66ers to begin their road trip. San Jose earned victories of 4-2 in the series opener on Thursday and 11-7 in the finale yesterday afternoon. Inland Empire claimed a 4-2 decision on Friday and then shutout the Giants by a 4-0 score the next night. The series was San Jose's only visit to San Bernardino this season.

Offensive Outburst The Giants exploded for season-high totals of 11 runs and 16 hits in yesterday's win against Inland Empire. San Jose's five stolen bases in yesterday's game was also a season-high. The Giants had scored a total of only four runs on 12 hits over the first three games of the 66ers series coming into Sunday (.129 team batting average). Saturday's loss was the first time San Jose had been shutout this year.

Duggar's Power Surge Outfielder Steven Duggar increased his season home run total to four after going deep twice in yesterday's game at Inland Empire. Duggar's four home runs this season rank second in the California League. He's also second in the league with an .813 slugging percentage and sixth with a .375 batting average. Duggar has hit four out of the five Giants home runs this season. Duggar's four homers have come in just 32 at-bats after he homered just once in 229 at-bats (58 games) with Salem-Keizer (Short-Season level) in 2015.

Cal League Experience Of the 25 players on San Jose's active roster, 14 had experience with the Giants in the California League prior to the 2016 season.

Hitting Streaks Infielder Jonah Arenado (six games) and first baseman Chris Shaw (five games) bring hitting streak into tonight's contest. Arenado has matched the longest hit streak by a Giants pitcher this season (C.J Hinojosa). He's batting .318 (7-for-22) with one home run during the streak. Shaw is hitting at a .381 clip (8-for-21) with three doubles and four RBI's during his five-game hit streak.

San Francisco Affiliation This year is San Jose's 29th season as an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants - the longest current partnership of any team in the California League. Since their inception in 1988, the San Jose Giants have won six league championships (1998, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010), 11 North Division titles and qualified for the playoffs 21 times (in 28 seasons). The Giants enter this year having posted a league-record 12 consecutive winning seasons (2004-2015).

Top Prospects Seven players on San Jose's roster are among the top 30 prospects in the San Francisco organization according to Baseball America: first baseman Chris Shaw (#5), pitcher Sam Coonrod (#6), catcher Aramis Garcia (#7), pitcher Andrew Suarez (#12), pitcher Jordan Johnson (#15), outfielder Ronnie Jebavy (#21) and outfielder Steven Duggar (#25).

Opponent Notes: Lake Elsinore Storm The Lake Elsinore Storm, an affiliate of the San Diego Padres, are off to a 6-5 start this season.
