San Diego Surf News Release
The Camp Pendleton Marines basketball team comes to the HourGlass arena at Miramar College to play the San Diego Surf of the American Basketball Association in an exhibition game this Saturday evening (10/16).
"The Marines are a tough bunch of ball players," said Surf head coach Terry Mason, speaking from experience after facing the Marines in two exhibition games last season, "What they may lack in speed or size, they make up for in strong, aggressive play."
The Surf is led by the 'Twin Towers', Cameron Koford and Guy Parcelany, two 7'2" players. Mountain West basketball fans will remember Koford from his playing days at Utah. Parcelany comes all the way across the ocean from Israel.
Other key players to look for include small forward John Clark, who was named to last season's ABA West All-Star team, and guard Terry Menefee, who received honorable mention recognition. The Surf plays a high-scoring, high-flying style of basketball that fans will enjoy watching.
Game time is at 7:00 PM, Saturday night, October 16th. Tickets are $8 at the door.
