San Diego Sockers News Release
The San Diego Sockers announced the release of Riley Swift, a goalkeeper from Escondido, Calif., yesterday.
The Sockers release Swift after signing former Sockers player Paul Wright to the 20-man roster. Wright, a forward for the Sockers from 1988-92, was released from the Baltimore Blast earlier this month.
Swift saw action in four games throughout his two seasons with the team. As a backup goalie in 2001, Swift had a 1-2 record with a 6.23 goals-against average and a .743 saves percentage.
Time in the goal is split between Dezso "DJ" Horvath and Nick Vorberg. Horvath leads the team with 116 saves while Vorberg is second in the Major Indoor Soccer League with a 8.38 saves percentage.
