
San Diego Sockers In Tijuana To Announce Trans-Border Effort For Crime And Drug Prevention

TIJUANA, Mexicoâ¹The San Diego Sockers, in cooperation with the Mayor's Office of Tijuana, held a press conference today, at Tijuana City Hall, to announce a game between Tecate and the Mayor's team on Nov. 10, following the Sockers match up against the Dallas Sidekicks at 6 p.m., at the San Diego Sports Arena.
The game is part of a program called "United Community and Police". The program is designed as a trans-border effort by the San Diego Police Department and the Tijuana government to promote crime and drug prevention. The San Diego Sockers, Tecate, OXXO and Club Sonrisas are taking an interest to promote this effort throughout both communities.
The San Diego Sockers are working to add soccer programs throughout Tijuana that youth can turn to as an alternative to crime and drugs.
