San Antonio Commanders News Release
SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Commanders have announced Operation Homefront as its team community partner as part of the Alliance of American Football's Heart of the Alliance program.
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive - not simply struggle to get by - in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. For more information on Operation Homefront's Critical Financial Assistance program, transitional and permanent housing opportunities, and other family support services offered throughout the year, visit OperationHomefront.org .
In support of the partnership, the Commanders will honor veterans and their families at each home game and Commanders' players will support various Operation Homefront events throughout both the season and off season. In addition, the Commanders will donate $50,000 to Operation Homefront and tickets to each home game.
"As we were searching for a community partner, we knew we wanted an organization with a strong focus on our military," said San Antonio Commanders president Vic Gregovits. "We are proud to partner with Operation Homefront and support their mission of aiding military families through their programs and services.
"This partnership is an opportunity for the Commanders to show our appreciation of those that have served our country."
"We are absolutely thrilled to partner with the San Antonio Commanders in a joint effort to build strong, stable and secure military families as they kick-off their season in the Alliance of American Football league," said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront. "Clearly, the San Antonio Commanders team shares our unwavering commitment to meeting the needs of those who have done so much for all of us - our veterans and their families. Their support will allow us to help many more families thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect."
