Sam Smith to coach Takers

Houston Takers News Release


The Houston Takers have finally named Sam Smith their new head coach for the upcoming 2007-2008 quest for the coveted ABA trophy.

"We had alot of resumes and coaches who participated in the interviewing process and Sam Smith gave us the comfort that we needed" stated the new GM Chancellor Nichols.

Chance Nichols also was hired in the young offseason as well and he will add his knowledge and experience which he attained while playing in both the NBA and ABA. Lee Hardy has been promoted to VP of Basketball Operations and Roy Willis promoted to President of Basketball Operations.

"Im looking forward to an exciting season and after attending our owners meeting, I feel real confident about the direction of our league as well" stated Leonard.

The Takers are now talking to the M.O. Campbell Center for their upcoming season that will seat close to 7000 Houston Takers fans.

"This past season we had a few obstacles with it being our first season but this year we are starting now for our push for 3000 season ticket holders and feel it will be a great season for the Houston Takers and our fans" stated Leonard.
