
Sam Evola Earns Shutout; Hawks Top Rebels

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Jamestown Rebels Saturday night in Johnstown, PA by a final score of 4-0.
Johnstown's Holt Oliphant opened the scoring Saturday night, getting the Tomahawks on the board with 2:46 remaining in the 1st period. The period ended with Cedrick Theodore being sent to the box for tripping, giving the Rebels about a minute of power play time to start the 2nd.
The Tomahawks killed off the power play, then a few minutes later Cole Bianchin netted his third goal of the season to put the Tomahawks up 2-0 for the 3rd period.
In the final 20, Egan Schmitt extended the score to 3-0 for the Tomahawks, followed by a goal from Braedon Ford 3:24 later to make it 4-0. Despite a penalty to Johnstown late in the 3rd period, the Tomahawks went on to win the game, giving goaltender Sam Evola his first shutout of the season.
The Tomahawks game initially scheduled for Monday, January 17 in Jamestown has been postponed due to inclement weather.
