Salt Lake Bees Announce 2010 Season Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY (October 19, 2009) - The Salt Lake Bees, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, announced today the team's 144-game schedule for the 2010 Pacific Coast League season. The Bees will begin the franchise's 17th season of play on the road against the Las Vegas 51s on April 8. Following four games at Las Vegas and four against the Reno Aces, the Bees return to Spring Mobile Ballpark for the club's 2010 home opener against the Tacoma Rainiers on April 16.

The team will play 72 home games and 72 road games in 152 days, all of which can be heard live on 1320 KFAN and AM 1230 KFAN 2 from the "voice of the Bees," Steve Klauke.

The Angels top farm club will face off against the 2009 Pacific North Division Champion Tacoma Rainiers for a four-game series at home on April 16 and will take on the 2009 PCL Champion Memphis Redbirds in the Bluff City August 17-20.

The 2010 season marks the club's 10th year of affiliation with the Angels, in which Salt Lake has a 671-621 record, four division championships, and one trip to the PCL Finals.

Salt Lake will host division rivals Tacoma Rainiers, Colorado Springs Sky Sox and Portland Beavers as well as Pacific South Division opponents Sacramento River Cats, Las Vegas 51s, Fresno Grizzlies and Reno Aces for eight games each. Salt Lake will also host all four American South Division teams for four games each against the Oklahoma City Redhawks, New Orleans Zephyrs, Albuquerque Isotopes, and Round Rock Express. The Bees will travel to American North Division teams Iowa Cubs, Memphis Redbirds, Omaha Royals and Nashville Sounds for four games each.

The Bees welcomed 492,321 fans to Spring Mobile Ballpark in 2009, averaging 7,240 fans every game, ranking in the top five of the 16-team PCL. On June 4, the club welcomed its eight-millionth fan in just 16 seasons of play. The Salt Lake Bees rallied to finish the 2009 season with a 72-71 record, marking the fifth-consecutive winning season for the club.
