Salt Lake City (April 5, 2010) - The Salt Lake Bees today released the 24-man roster for opening day of the 2010 Pacific Coast League season.

"The Angels farm system has consistently ranked among the top in Major League Baseball and the club has once again provided us with a highly-talented group of players," said Salt Lake Bees general manager Marc Amicone. "Our roster boasts 10 players with big league experience and three players rated among the top 100 prospects in professional baseball. We welcome Bees fans to experience major league talent right here in Salt Lake City."

On the mound, Salt Lake returns eight pitchers who saw action for the Bees a year ago, including 2009 PCL All-Star Jeremy Hill and righty Sean O'Sullivan, who recorded the franchise's first no-hitter last season. The Bees also welcome Angels top pitching prospect Trevor Reckling to Salt Lake for the first time. Behind the plate, catcher Hank Conger joins the Bees as the organization's top overall prospect.

In the infield, Freddy Sandoval returns following a .300 batting average last season and a 2008 season where he was named the Angels Minor League Player of the Year. Mark Trumbo, power-hitting prospect and Anaheim native, makes his first Triple-A roster.

The Bees welcome back former four-year Salt Lake player Nick Gorneault in the outfield. He is joined by two Angels newcomers in 13-year veteran outfielder Cory Aldridge and 14-year veteran outfielder Michael Ryan. Also in the outfield is top prospect Peter Bourjos (114 stolen bases in four professional seasons) and speedster Brad Coon (170 stolen bases in five professional seasons).

The Salt Lake Bees begin the 2010 PCL season on the road against the Las Vegas 51s on Thursday, April 8 at 8:05 p.m. (MST). The team returns to Salt Lake City for the home opener on April 16 against the Tacoma Rainiers at 6:35 p.m. (MST).
