Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

Victoria, BC - Victoria Salmon Kings Head Coach and General Manager Bryan Maxwell announced today the signing of two more players who will wear the Salmon Kings logo on their shirt this coming winter.

Seth Leonard will return to the Salmon Kings along with Victoria born KC Timmons. Leonard, who was the youngest Salmon King to start last season, finished his rookie year with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points in 63 games.

"We look forward to having Seth back with the Salmon Kings for the upcoming season and expect him to continue to develop. Having one professional season under his belt we expect bigger and better things from Seth next year," said Bryan Maxwell, Head Coach and General Manager of the Victoria Salmon Kings.

The 22-year-old smooth skating winger has a tonne of potential as he showed in his final year of junior with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League. During the 2003-04 season Leonard scored 50 goals and 40 assists for 90 points in 72 games.

The 5'9 190lbs winger showed flashes of his talent in his first season of professional hockey with the Salmon Kings last year and has a nose for the net. Maxwell's addition of size to the Salmon Kings both on forward and defense will benefit a player like Leonard as the ice will open up for him to capitalize on his playmaking ability.

Newcomer KC Timmons returns to his hometown after spending the 2002-03 season with the Quad City Mallards in the United Hockey League. Timmons was a fifth round draft pick (141 overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6'2 205lbs left winger has spent most of the last five seasons in the Colorado Avalanche's system playing 105 games with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

"KC returns from Australia, where he has played for the past two seasons, to play in the ECHL. He has spent most of his professional career in the AHL and we look forward to KC having a great year at the ECHL level," said Maxwell.

Leonard and Timmons join Derek Campbell, Mike Josephson, Kevin Marsh, Corey Smith, Jan Sochor, Ryan Wade and Mike Wirll on the forward lines, while Maxwell has secured Joel Andresen, Nathan Forster, Chad Dameworth, Kurt Drummond and Craig Zubersky to patrol the blueline. Rob Muntain has been signed to work between the pipes.
