Saints Add D-Man

San Angelo Saints News Release

San Angelo, TX—The San Angelo Saints suffered a hard string of injuries late in the 2003-04 season, five of which resulted in season ending injuries. John Jarram suffered a serious injury in early January, which placed him on Season Ending IR. Jarram used that time to recover and has since been preparing to hit the ice in October, and the Saints announced today that he will do just that here in San Angelo.

Jarram returns to San Angelo for his second professional season. At 6-1 and 210 pounds, the Kitchener, Ontario native brings even more size to the Saints' defensive corps. He began his junior hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League, considered the best developmental league in Canada for young prospective pro players. He also played one season of college hockey at Wilfrid Laurier University and helped lead the Golden Hawks to the Mid-West Division Finals.

Saints Head Coach/Assistant GM Ray Edwards is looking forward to a big year for Jarram.

"After having a tough first year pro, I'm really looking to John to learn from last year and become a solid defenseman. This is going to be a big year and it is important that he be not only physically, but also mentally ready. I know that he will be important to our team and add more offense from the backend."

Jarram has been working hard during the off-season and is ready for the upcoming season.

"It wasn't easy having an injury like that, but I've been training hard to get back in shape. I do a lot of weight training and cardio so that I can be more than ready when training camp starts. I want to bring a solid physical presence to the game and put up some points too. I'm excited and ready to get back on ice."
