Kings Change Logo
July 8, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Lubbock Cotton Kings News Release
LUBBOCK, TX â Lubbock Cotton Kings General Manager Fred Meseke announced today the team will be using an updated version of the shield as their new logo.
"We feel the new shield logo is a classy change for us," said Meseke. "The shield will also be the main logo on our jerseys this next season. We are really excited about the change."
For the first five years of existence, the Kings main logo on business cards and publications has been Eli â the feisty cotton ball. Prior to the start of the fifth season, the organization updated the Eli by showing the cotton ball biting through a hockey stick. The new shield â which is the same design as the old shield but with a more metallic finish â will be the third logo change in six seasons for the Kings.
The Cotton Kings home and road jerseys have historically displayed Eli while the blue and gold third jersey has displayed the old version of the shield. The new shield will be a prominent fixture on the jerseys for the upcoming season.
The Kings join the newly-formed Topeka Tarantulas (formerly the Indianapolis Ice) as the only teams that have made a logo change for the upcoming season.
COLDSTONE CREAMERY
The Kings Head Coach Chris Dashney and Eli will be at the newest Coldstone Creamery location on 82nd across from the theatre this Saturday from 1-2 p.m. Both Eli and Coach will be scooping ice cream and celebrating the grand opening of Coldstone's newest venue. Stop by and enjoy some sweets!
