Saint Louis FC Adds Preseason Match
March 3, 2016 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Saint Louis FC News Release
ST. LOUIS - Today Saint Louis FC announced it will play an exhibition match against Southern Illinois Edwardsville. The Cougars, of the NCAA's Missouri Valley Conference in Men's Soccer, will play host to STLFC on Saturday, March 19 at 3:00 p.m. in Ralph Korte Stadium on the campus of SIUE.
"We're excited to be playing SIUE again this preseason." said Saint Louis FC General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh. "With the game coming only a few days after our match with Indy Eleven, fans and supporters should expect to see some of our younger players and possibly some Academy players getting some minutes."
The match against SIUE will mark the second consecutive year the two teams have faced each other in Saint Louis FC's preseason.
"They provided a good test for us last year and we expect it will be the same this year." explained Alumbaugh. "Additionally, it will give our fans and supporters an opportunity to see us play in the St. Louis area before we open our USL season at the Soccer Park on April 16."
There will be no charge for admission and fans can expect concessions to be available.
