
Saint John Wins Second in Two Nights

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats won their second home game in two nights, holding off the Halifax Rainmen 98-88 at Harbour Station.
Saint John built a big first half lead 54-33 on the strength of 6-6 shooting from behind the arc.
The Rainmen fought back and clawed to within 5 points, at 85-90, with 2:08 left in the game. Doug Herring Jr. then hit two free throws, and after a stop, Raheem Singleton barreled to the hoop for a layup with 47 seconds left, sealing the win.
Tyrone Levett led the Mill Rats with 19 points, Doug Herring Jr. had 18, Anthony Anderson 16, Jermaine Blackburn 13, Casey Love 12, and Eric Crookshank 10. Jason Williams and Raven Barber had 18 a piece for Halifax.
The Mill Rats record improves to 13-9 while the Rainmen fall to 3-18.
The Mill Rats are back in action on Thursday January 9th at Harbour Station at 7PM versus Halifax Rainmen.
