(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats have traded shooting guard Chris Matthews to the Halifax Rainmen for a 2014 1st round draft pick and other undisclosed considerations.
"We'd like to thank Chris for his professionalism as a Mill Rat and his service to date, on and off the court," explained Mill Rats President & General Manager Ian McCarthy. "We received trade offers all season quite frankly for Chris, and now was the right time to pull the trigger."
Matthews will not be in uniform for the Mill Rats or the Rainmen for tonight's game.
"We have been in contact with some high level free agents that we think can help us in various areas, and once we have a player signed we will make an announcement to the public."
