SACRAMENTO, Calif. (February 17, 2015) - Sacramento Republic FC agreed on a contract with goalkeeper Patrick McLain, re-signed forward Justin Braun and extended the contracts of midfielder Octavio Guzman and goalkeeper Dominik Jakubek.
"We are very pleased to bring these players back and to welcome Patrick to the club," said Republic FC Technical Director Graham Smith. "It is always gratifying to see players come to the club. Signings like these demonstrate that this is the club to be with and is a testament to the group ethos Preki has put into place."
McLain joins Republic FC on a one-year contract with a club option for the 2016 season. McLain appeared in 15 matches for Orange County Blues FC during the 2014 season, recording 66 saves. Prior to joining Orange County, McLain played for Chivas USA, appearing in two matches. In 2010, McLain had a .835 save percentage, which is still the program record at Cal Poly.

He scored four goals and recorded an assist in 1,300 minutes played. Braun scored the first goal in Republic FC history on a header in the 33rd minute against LA Galaxy II on March 29, 2014. Braun also scored the first Republic FC goal at Bonney Field on a header in the 20th minute against the Colorado Rapids Reserves on June 20, 2014.
Guzman's extended contract will keep him with Republic FC for the 2015 season, with a club option for the 2016 season. As a rookie in 2014, Guzman appeared in 24 matches, starting 16. He scored two goals and recorded an assist in 1,289 minutes. Guzman also scored the first goal in the 2014 USL PRO Championship match on September 27.
Jakubek signed a two-year contract extension through the 2016 season, with a club option for the 2017 season. A Lodi, Calif. native, Jakubek joined Republic FC last season, appearing in 14 USL matches and recording a 6-5-3 record with a 1.12 goals against average.
