
Sacramento Republic FC Sign James Kiffe, Release Chad Bond

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 16, 2014) - Sacramento Republic FC have announced they have signed defender James Kiffe for the remainder of the season. Kiffe played most recently with the Ventura County Fusion where he started and played 90 minutes against Republic FC in the second round of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Kiffe appeared in over 40 matches in three years with UC Santa Barbara scoring two goals and recording six assists as a senior in 2011. Kiffe was named Big West Defender of the Year as a senior and was named to the All-Far West Region First Team, ESPN LA All-Area Team and All-Big West First Team.
Republic FC also announced that they have come to a mutual agreement with midfielder Chad Bond and have released him from the club.
