Sacramento Capitals News Release

The Sacramento Capitals World TeamTennis (WTT) franchise is pleased to announce that Renee Parks will be the new Director of Ticket Sales starting November 1, 2004.

Parks, a native of Humboldt County, moved to Sacramento over a year ago. Prior to her move to the California capital, she served in the Air Force in Austin, Texas, but a back injury curtailed her intended career as a military police officer. "I always wanted to be in law enforcement until I got hurt," she explained. "But I want to make a difference one way or another. So customer service is a great job for me."

Renee will be travelling to tennis clubs in northern California throughout the year, promoting and selling tickets for the Sacramento Capitals, the 2004 Western Conference Champions of WTT. "I'm really excited about meeting new people through this job," said Parks, a former office manager for Tuff Shed in Sacramento. "I'm also looking forward to learning more about tennis!"

In their 20th year of the WTT League, the Sacramento Capitals are five-time champions of the League Championship and King Trophy (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002). The Caps won the Western Conference in 2004 but fell to the Newport Beach Breakers in the WTT Semifinal in New York.
