Sabres Recall Cody McCormick From Portland

BUFFALO, NY (April 20, 2010) - Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have recalled forward Cody McCormick from Portland (AHL).

McCormick (4/18/1983, 6'3", 215 lbs.) is in his first season with the Sabres organization after signing as a free agent on August 1, 2009. He finished the regular season with 29 points (17+12) and a team-high 168 PIMs over 66 games with the Pirates.

McCormick has 190 games of NHL experience in parts of five seasons with Colorado from 2003-09, accumulating 30 points (9+21) and 250 PIMs.

The 27-year-old McCormick was originally selected by the Avalanche in the fifth round (144th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
