
SaberCats rally late to defeat Rush

(Lancaster, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks used three home runs in the game to improve its record to 6-3 with a 5-4 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at the Epicenter in front of an opening night crowd of 6,569 fans.
The JetHawks used home runs from Neb Brown, Carlos Quentin, and Jamie D'Antona to plate four runs in the top of the third inning on their way to the win. For Quentin, the first round draft pick from Stanford, it was his first professional home run. Keith Whatley won his first game of the year for the JetHawks, working into the sixth innings for the second straight start. Whatley allowed four runs on eight hits and fanned three. Dustin Glant was able to rebound from his first loss of the season in last Tuesday nights game to record his second save of the year.
The win moves the JetHawks back into second place in the South Division, jumping ahead of the Quakes who fell to 5-3 on the year. The JetHawks are now 2-0 this year in games decided by one-run.
The series in Rancho Cucamonga continues on Saturday night 7:15 p.m. Ryan Holsten will make his second start of the year for the JetHawks, and Daniel Davidson will go to the mound for the Quakes. Listen to the game live on Community Radio AM1340 starting at 7:00 p.m.
