San Jose SaberCats News Release

SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 4, 2003) -- San Jose offensive specialist James Hundon, who missed four games following hernia surgery, was activated from injured reserve today and is expected to play when the World Champion SaberCats play the Dallas Desperados on Sunday.

Despite missing nearly half of the team's games this season, Hundon is tied for the team lead in touchdown catches with 14 and is second with 428 receiving yards. He is tied with Barry Wagner for second on the squad with 24 receptions.

An All-Arena League performer last season, Hundon underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia on March 3 following San Jose's game at Las Vegas on March 2. Hundon had seven catches for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns in that game.

To make room on the roster, the SaberCats placed WR/LB Jerry Reese on injured reserve with a leg injury.

The SaberCats look for their seventh straight win when they battle the Desperados on Sunday, April 6. The game will be shown live in the Bay Area on NBC3 at 9:00 a.m.
