
S2's Rossi Named Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - Seattle Sounders FC 2 midfielder Pablo Rossi has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2015 season, after a performance that saw him score once and add an assist as S2 took a 4-2 victory against Sacramento Republic FC.
Rossi earned 65 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media from every USL market.
USL Team of the Week
GK - Lalo Fernandez, Real Monarchs SLC: The young goalkeeper recorded a four-save shutout in the Monarchs' inaugural contest to earn a point on the road against the LA Galaxy II
D - Quinton Griffith, Charleston Battery: Strong two-way performance saw the Antigua & Barbuda international be rewarded with an assist on Dane Kelly's goal
D - A.J. DeLaGarza, LA Galaxy II: Rarely put a foot wrong in his return from injury, and helped contain the Monarchs to five shots
D - Taylor Mueller, Charleston Battery: Scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time as the Battery surged back to win 3-2 against Toronto
D - Riley McGovern, Real Monarchs SLC: Solid play at fullback, and also pushed forward well in his professional debut
M - Pablo Rossi, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Scored a beautiful free kick, provided an assist on Sam Garza's goal, and was creative throughout the second half against Sacramento
M - Octavio Guzman, Sacramento Republic FC: Outstanding free kick was a late consolation for the defending champions in Seattle
M - Giuliano Frano, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Recovered possession well in the center of midfield and covered ground defensively to restrict Sacramento going forward
F - Dane Kelly, Charleston Battery: Speed caused problems for Toronto's defense, and finished a near-post header well to start Battery's comeback
F - Mo Babouli, Toronto FC II: Recorded a goal in his professional debut, and finished with three shots in a solid opening performance
F - Andy Craven, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Scored the first goal in S2 history, and provided strong hold-up play throughout the game
