LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Aces' Player Programs & Franchise Development Manager Rushia Brown is being honored by VEGAS Gives Wednesday, November 7 as one of ten local women striving to build a more charitable

Las Vegas. VEGAS Magazine, in partnership with the Howard Hughes Corporation, the master-planned community of Summerlin and Downtown Summerlin, is hosting this year's 10th annual event at Fairway Hills Clubhouse-The Ridges.

"To be recognized alongside this incredible group of women is an amazing honor," said Brown. "Each of them has made a tremendous impact on the Las Vegas community, and as a new resident, I look forward to having a similar impact."

As part of VEGAS Gives each of the ten honorees selects one non-profit, and monies raised at the event go to support those causes. Brown designated Toni's House Inc. as her charity of choice.

Toni's House is a 501(c)(3) charity that aims to provide a safe living environment to help people in transition with the process of healing, as well as support in developing the skills needed for a healthy and successful life. They operate two facilities at separate sites in Las Vegas- one residence for adult women and one residence for adult men. Toni's House's philosophy is that lasting recovery is not just about learning to abstain from drugs and alcohol or damaging behaviors. The goal is to give each of their residents the time, space and support that they need to transform.

"Prior to my arrival in Las Vegas this spring, I was connected with Monique Ellis Westfield, through my good friend, NBA Legend Dale Ellis," explained Brown, "and Monique helped me throughout my transition. She is the founder and chairwoman of the board for Toni's House, and I was able to see first hand the kind of impact she is making in the lives of her residents, and her passion as a change agent. The work that she and the rest of the Toni's House team are doing is incredibly important, and I'm delighted to be able to assist with those efforts through VEGAS Gives."

Those interested in attending VEGAS Gives may purchase tickets through tonishouse.nationbuilder.com. Those who are unable to attend, but would like to support Toni's House directly, may do so at tonishouse.nationbuilder.com as well.
